How do we collect information from you?

We obtain information about you when you use our website, most obviously (but not exclusively) when you apply for specific products such as personal loans, secured loans or guarantor loans. In these examples you submit your data via one of our in-house enquiry forms. top

What type of information is collected from you?

We may collect, store and use the following information:

1. When you surf our website, click through to a partner website or make a loan enquiry (not personal loans, secured loans or guarantor loans)

  • Information relating to your computer and how you use our website, for example which pages you have visited on our site or how long you stay on our site. In general this data is not personally identifiable.

2. When you make an enquiry for a Personal Loan, Secured Loan or Guarantor Loan

In addition to the types of information in 1. above we will also collect and store the following personal information:

  • Information to allow us and our lenders to contact you – name, addresses, email & phone numbers, etc

How is your information used?

The personal information that you give us will be used by us so that we can identify you, provide you with relevant information, improve your browsing experience by personalising the website and enable you to apply for your loan on our website. We may also use your contact details to allow us to communicate with you to confirm your loan application and to send you updates about your application.

In the case of both personal loan and guarantor loan enquiries your information is passed in real time to our panel of lenders so that we can present you with a personalised list of lenders who will lend to you in principle. These lender responses are presented to you on the thank you pages of our website and also emailed to you. You also consent to these lenders contacting you by various means to discuss your loan enquiry.

These are the lenders to whom we send loan enquiries:

These lists change over time and may not reflect the actual lenders to whom your data was sent. However, we keep a record of which lenders your data was passed to.

All personal information will be treated in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and other relevant legislation including, from 25 May 2018, the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations, as applicable, to protect the privacy of such information. We never provide your personal information to any third parties for the purpose of marketing. top

Why do we share your personal data?

As described above your data is shared with our lenders so that we can provide you with a real-time loan broking service. We do not share your data with any other parties including reference agencies. However, by submitting your enquiry to us you permit our credit grantor partners to conduct credit searches if required. They may use this information to make credit decisions about you and the people with whom you are financially associated, as well as for fraud prevention, debtor tracing and money laundering purposes. If you provide false or inaccurate information and our partners suspect fraud, they will record this.

We would also use your personal data in any legal proceedings. We are required by law to disclose your personal data to law enforcement agencies in connection with any investigation to prevent unlawful activity.

We will never disclose your personal data to any third parties for the purposes of marketing, nor will we transfer the information to another country. top

Right to erasure of your personal information

Under the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulations (effective from 25 May 2018) you have the right to withdraw your consent for the processing of and request deletion of your personal data under certain circumstances, for example, if you have not taken out a loan with us or the statutory period for which we need to hold your data has expired. Please note that if you ask us to delete or stop processing personal information, we won’t always be required to do so. If that is the case, we will explain why. We will anonymise or pseudonymise the personal information so that we can ensure your deletion is recorded.
