Bad Credit Short Term Loans
There are numerous types of small, short terms loans to consider whether you have bad credit or not. Each, of course, has its pros and cons. There is more information below to help you choose.
As with all credit think twice before taking on more debt if you already have some and are beginning to struggle to balance your weekly or monthly budget.
Short Term Options:
- Instalment Loans (1+ month)
- Doorstep Loans (3+ months)
- Line of Credit (as required)
- Payday Loans (1 month)
- Guarantor Loans (12+ months)
Short term borrowing choices
If you have a bad credit history and need some credit to bridge a short term gap in your finances then consider these options. Any of Instalment, Doorstep or Payday loans can cover a period of just a few weeks. It’s never advisable to use a payday loan for more than 1 month. If 12 months is not too long for you then a Guarantor loan is worth considering.
Why Consider a Small Cash Loan?
While you should always be wary about taking on credit you can ill afford to repay there are a number of benefits to a cash loan:
- Relatively fast to organise and obtain – perhaps within just an hour or two of applying
- Can cover those emergency situations if you don’t have savings to dip into
- Generally get instant decisions from lenders
- You can sometimes choose between weekly and monthly payments
- You don’t have to have a perfect credit history
Note: Lenders are obliged to conduct affordability checks.
What is meant by "Short Term"?
Above we have included all loans that have a repayment option of 12 months or fewer. We would always encourage you to repay your loan as quickly as your household budget will allow you to as this way you’ll reduce the total amount of interest that is charged.
Remember that, as with all credit, how you manage the repayment of your short term cash loan will influence your ability to get credit in the future. All activity is recorded in your credit file. Repayment in full and on time will help improve your credit score so that you may have better loan options in the future.
